Red Wings Will Miss The Playoffs This Year

That’s right, we said it. Well actually, we didn’t say it. A colleague of mine made this statement in my office yesterday and it surprised me as much as it does you. Here are the details of this outrageous statement:

“The Red Wings will miss the playoffs by 2pts for the 2008-2009 season. IF the Red Wings make the playoffs this year, they will make it by 1pt and will be booted in the first round.”

And it gets better. Of course, my good friend Mark – a psychotic Red Wings fan says, “My Wings WILL make the playoffs and take the President’s Cup again.”

So what’s it gonna be? After all, the Red Wings HAVE made the playoffs for the last 17 years…With much of their core team back again for this upcoming season, I can’t say that this will pan out.
