Burress: Contract Woes, But Will Still Show To Camp

Good for you Plax. Show em’ what you’re made of. Of course you want more money, you caught the winning touchdown at the Superbowl! We’re all just glad that you didn’t Shockey the situation.

Good ol’ Plax has been trying to work with the Giants organization on a new contract but assures them that he is not “another headache” similar to the late Jeremy Shockey. According to the Star-Ledger based in Newark, NJ, Burress said. “I’m going to be at camp. I’m going to get out and practice,” Burress told The Star-Ledger. “I said that I may not have, but the smarter thing for me to do is to show up and show my teammates I’m ready to play football.”

“It shouldn’t have gotten to this point. It just shows me as a person how important I really am to them,” Burress told the newspaper. “This thing’s a two-way street. It’s not a one-way. … It just opens your eyes a little bit to the people you’re walking around with. You look them in the face and they smile at you.”

I can certainly see where this could get ugly tough. But you have to congratulate Plax on being the big man and showing up to camp to play on the “team”. Funny, the word team. Seems that a lot of players forget today that they play on a “team”.
