Packers Fan: “He Retired. Get Over It”
And that is exactly what Packers fans should do . Move on. I doubt very seriously that Green Bay is going to give in to Favre’s emotions during the recent off-season.
At the Thursday morning Green Bay Packers shareholder’s meeting, there were pleanty of fans applauding CEO Mike Murphy, General Manager Ted Thompson, and Head Coach Mike McCarthy – they even received a standing ovation.
With a reaction like that, you have to feel like the few fans that are shareholders of the Packers’ franchise, support the leadership in how they have handled this situation.
“Quite a few people look at the situation and say, ‘Boy, that’s really a tough one,’” Murphy said, speaking with reporters after the meeting. “You know, you’ve got an iconic player (who) has meant so much to the team. But with all the circumstances, the organization moved on after he retired. So I think people realize that it’s a pretty delicate, sensitive situation and we’re trying to handle it the best we can.”
The real problem here is the fact that Favre never really made up his mind. Even today, with all the press about him wanting to play, he hasn’t actually stated that I wish to come back. In fact, he hasn’t even filed for reinstatement through the Commissioner’s office. If Favre would have decided to stay in the first place, he would have been welcomed back without question.
Lee Ackley, former Madison East High School Football coach was quoted in an AP article saying,
“It’s to the point where it’s really not doing the franchise any good, and it’s really not doing Favre’s legend any good,” Ackley said. “It’s really kind of sad. You can see both sides. I mean, I can see where the Packers are coming from. The guy said, ‘I’m done.’ ‘I’d like to come back.’ ‘I’m done.’ ‘I’d like to come back, let’s talk.’ … I’m sure they’d have loved to have had him, but there’s a point where you have to put the mark in the sand and say, ‘Hey, we’re moving on.’”
So lets start the process. Where IS Brett Favre going. No matter what, I doubt this is going to be pretty.

It would have been nice if Favre had stayed retired.
